Creating Health! for our

Canine & Feline Companions . . .
and Ourselves!

About Us

WHY THIS WEB SITE?

Over and over again, I hear stories about dogs with chronic ear infections, who itch and scratch constantly and get little or no relief from prescription diets or drugs.  Oh, and cats with urinary tract infections?  I hear about this subject every single day!  These health issues and many more will be discussed on this site.

It has become my mission to pass on what I have learned about creating health for our beloved companions.

WE CAN CREATE HEALTH AND BALANCE
FOR OUR DOGS AND CATS BY SIMPLY
PROVIDING SPECIES-APPROPRIATE FOODS
AND ELIMINATING PROCESSED FOODS.

I will be sharing with you, on this website, what I have learned about creating health for our animal companions and ourselves.  When correctly applied, this information will dramatically improve your animal's health and well being.  Together, we can CREATE HEALTH for our animal companions.

 WHO AM I?

Certified as a Dog Trainer in 1998, I practice animal communication, Reiki, aromatherapy and acupressure in conjunction with animal nutrition.

My learning about nutrition started 20 years ago, when we lost our wonderful dog, Naomi, to pancreatic cancer.

Naomi was an amazing and wonderful White German Shepherd, and her diagnosis and death at the age of 10 left us in a state of shock.  In the months and years following her passing, I began to take a hard look at the incidence of cancer and other illnesses that were plaguing the canine population, and it became apparent to me that something was very wrong with the way we, as a society, were caring for our animals.

Simultaneously, my good friend, Martha, gave me a book about something called the species-appropriate diet, Natural Nutrition for Cats & Dogs: The Ultimate Diet, by Kymythy Schultze.  While I was hesitant at first, it was obvious that this raw diet had done wonders for her dogs – they had beautiful, shining coats, a solid, muscular feel, very white teeth, clear eyes, and only the occasional visit to the vet.  They had endurance and balanced energy.  They were beautiful!

So I made the leap, and started Tasha and Frith, my two younger Shepherds (then 5 years old) on a combination diet consisting of raw meat and dry kibble.  This was not without hesitation, believe me!  I wondered initially if we were doing the right thing.  As it turns out, it made all the difference.  The changes in their appearance and energy were dramatic.  Just four years ago, Tasha passed away at age 16.  Frith had passed on six months earlier.  I believe their lives were dramatically improved and lengthened by the addition of raw,  whole, nutritious foods to what had been a mostly dry food diet.

Who We Are

Today I constantly read and research to stay as informed as possible about nutrition and alternative care options for our animal companions and ourselves.  Over the past 25 years, I have learned an enormous amount about nutrition – canine, feline and human.  During the past four years, especially, I have been immersed in learning intensively about holistic nutrition, homeopathic and herbal remedies and holistic veterinary philosophy, as well as how negligent the pet food industry has become.  Because I was fortunate enough to become a customer service rep for Only Natural Pet in Boulder, Colorado, I have had the opportunity to study with holistic vets, herbalists, energetic healers and nutritionists, and have attended product trainings with representatives from many progressive companies.  Some of my most valuable learning experiences have come from talking with hundreds of our clients about the health and nutrition of their animal companions.

Thank you for being ready to change the way you care for your animals!  I hope the information from this site will help you CREATE HEALTH!

Kind Regards,

Sarah
